PANDA BIKE

PANDA BIKE – SPECS

  • The Panda Bike build started with a 2023 Vitus Sommet 297 frame with 170mm travel that we ordered from Europe.

The frame is the mullet model Sommet running a 29 inch wheel in the front and a 27.5 well in the rear. The reason we chose a mullet set for this build is because the smaller rear wheel is easier for the electric motor to spin. That’s why all MX motorcycles use a smaller rear wheels.

Another interesting thing with the Vitus Sommet 297 frame is that it’s a hybrid frame meaning the front triangle is carbon fiber and the seat and chain stays are aluminum.

  • white/black with purple accents

  • The motor we chose for this build is a CYC gen4 pro model motor. This motor can be run up to 4000watts with the custom Powerful Lithium USA 52v 18ah battery. And you know we couldn’t leave the motor stock so we modified it to fit the bike better and cleaned up the wiring to fit the build better. We also changed the chainring to a purple Alugear 34 tooth chainring that is compatible with the new SRAM T-Type chain. For Crank arms we used 150mm VCX that we powder coated white to match the build better and for pedal we used purple Oneup One pedals. We like using those pedals because there very wide and very thin.

Custom 7th generation battery bag, designed to help cool the battery, with burn proof Nomex lining. This allows for more air flow across the battery when riding to cool it.

For suspension we changed out the Fox shock that the frame came with and replaced it with a Rockshox Vivid Coil Ultimate DH RC2 shock. For the front we are using an Intend BC flash fork set up to 180mm of travel.

The front wheel is a Spank Vibercore rim. We like using these rims up front to help damp-in vibrations at high speeds. We used a purple Industry Nine hub. And a 29 x 3.0 Maxxis Minion DHF front tire. We like to use a 3 inch wide tire in the front to help on the lose dry terrain we have here in Southern California. For the rear wheel we used a purple Industry Nine hub. With a WTB E-bike specific rim for extra strength. Then we used a 27.5 x 2.6 Maxxis Minion DHR tire. Both wheels also have Tannus tire liners to help with flats and also with the added weight of a E-bike.

The drivetrain on this bike is a SRAM XX Eagle wireless, direct mount derailleur that we then upgraded with a Cascade Components cage for added strength to handle the high powered motor. The cassette is a SRAM XX Eagle T-Type cassette with 10-52T. The chain is a SRAM T-Type chain. The shifter is a SRAM wireless shifter.

The brakes on this bike are purple and black Hope Tech4 V4 brakes that we changed the hosing out to white braided Jagwire hosing. With purple Hope floating rotors 220mm in the front 203mm rear with MTX gold label pads. Then we added purple grips to the brake levers for added grip.

The stem is a purple Deity Copperhead 35mm stem.

The handlebars are Enve M7 carbon fiber bars with a 40mm rise.

The grips are black and purple ODI Rogue grips.

The headset has been upgraded to a purple Industry Nine headset. With a purple wolftooth spacer.

The seatpost is a Race Face SL carbon fiber seat post that we added a Aenomaly Contructs SwitchGrade saddle angle adjuster to. The seat post clamp is a purple Wolftooth quick release clamp. The saddle is a WTB Volt with titanium rails.

    Outbound Trail Evo Bike Light.
